Amber Trujillo has been collecting fiesta medals for five years and this La Leona Fiesta Medal 2020 is her second ever personal fiesta medal. The design is in honor of her maternal grandfather who passed away February 16, 2005 of colon cancer. When her daughter was born her grandfather was already ill and undergoing chemo treatments. He bonded instantly with his great granddaughter Eliana, dubbing her La Leona.

The name over the years has grown to be fitting for Amber's daughter, a strong independent young lady with the fierceness of a lioness. The medal incorporates bright colors and subtle artist references such as pencils and paint brushes to show the artistic character of her La Leona. $1 from each medal sold in 2020 was donated to Colon Cancer Coalition, the national non-profit that empowers local communities to promote prevention and early detection of colon cancer and to provide support to those affected.
