Ray Linares came to me with an unbelievable idea for a medal and an incredible tribute for his Fiesta friend that he lost too soon. He wanted a way where anyone could honor a lost loved one by customizing the medal with their picture. This is what inspired Ray to make this Ofrenda Fiesta Medal 2020. 

There is plenty of symbolism in this medal—the veladoras and marigolds tie to Día de los Muertos, the cascarones to Fiesta and the sacred heart represents God's love. The papel picado-esque artwork at the top of the Ofrenda Fiesta Medal is a pattern of a skull, moon and sun, representing eternity. But the most important element is that everyone can make this medal their own by sliding in a picture of a loved one. Simply scale a picture to 1 3/8" wide and it will fit in snugly. $1 from every sale through 2020 was donated to K9s for Warriors.
