When in came to making her 2020 Fiesta Medal, Madalyn Mendoza (aka Maddy Skye) wanted to pay tribute to the one spot at NIOSA that is the unofficial/official meet up spot during Fiesta: the windmill in the Frontier land part of NIOSA! This beautiful Windmill Fiesta Medal 2020 features that iconic spot that everyone goes to when they don't have cell coverage, three stacked cups and the Tower of the Americas in the background with the words "Livin' La Villita Loca!" at the bottom!
$1 from every sale of this medal through 2020 was donated to the San Antonio Rape Crisis Center, an organization that provides care for those impacted by sexual violence through counseling, crisis intervention and prevention education. Maddy was a victim of sexual assault last April, writing, that the "hours and days surrounding that moment were a nightmare. My darkest days happened right in the thick of the city's brightest. I know what I experienced was just a fraction of the violence so many people have suffered through. The Rape Crisis Center of San Antonio offers care, from 24-hour intervention to prevention to advocacy because everyone deserves to feel safe. I hope this medal can help other survivors, even in a small way, feel empowered or safe through the power of Fiesta."
