Amber Trujillo is one of those hard core medal collectors—she always seemed to watch our live videos and would cheer us on with our medals. So it was only natural that I paired up with her for a 2019 Fiesta Medal! Being a Sci-Fi and comics nut, one of the things that Amber loves most is Dr. Who. So we decided to do an homage to it with this San Antonio Tardis Fiesta Medal 2019!

We enter a scene where the Doctor arrived at San Antonio in 1929, just outside of the recently built Majestic Theater. A Ford Model-T helps place the time that we're in and on the marquee is "Opening Night: Follies of Fiesta 2019," a tribute the the first show that premiered at The Majestic, "Follies of 1929."

Through 2020, one dollar from every sale was donated to The Southwest School of Arts Young Artist Program. Her daughter is a visual artist and has attended the Southwest School of Arts for many summers. Being a single mom, Amber would save all year to send her every summer but sometimes she would come up short. This program was key in providing a scholarship to cover a full week of instruction one summer when the family needed help. This program was able to give their family support and Amber's daughter was able to continue to grow her skills and love of the arts. She now attends an art based high school and is looking forward to attending a college in the arts in the future.
