While our People and Places series focused on a lot of old San Antonio, the FISH Fiesta Medal by Mitzi Moore pays homage to one of the newer iconic spots in SA. The FISH sculptures were installed along the Museum Reach under the I-35 overpass and has been a destination for locals and visitors alike.

Because Mitzi's a teacher, we put a school bus driving up above. The fish dangle from the overpass just like real life with a river boat passing by underneath. One dollar from the FISH Fiesta Medal goes to benefit the San Antonio Mennonite Church and Community Center and their programs to help combat domestic violence, teaching the public to play instruments and providing assistance to immigrants among other things.
