I came up with this medal idea during the pandemic was hoping to revealing this Grinch Fiesta Medal 2021 in March as a way to look back at how far we came from 2020. But with the announcement today that Fiesta 2021 has been moved to June and the corresponding announcements that Oyster Bake, Fiesta Flambeau and the Battle of Flowers parade have all been cancelled this year, it looks like the ole Grinch has stole some of this year's Fiesta as well. So I decided to release this medal today on that news. 

$1 from the How the Grinch Stole Fiesta Medal in 2021 was donated to the San Antonio Conservation Society—this is the organization that benefits from the big NIOSA party and with the Grinch enjoying a chicken on a stick, I thought that that nonprofit made the most sense to get the donation. 

Here's hoping that by June 2021 we will be in a much better place. One where the majority of folks have been able to get vaccinated and the cases and hospitalizations of the virus has subsided. #SummerFiesta would be a hot one, but I'd at least like to see what it'd be like!
